What are some creative uses for speaker stands?
I bought a PA system a little while ago, and the speaker stands were on back order, but the rest of the package arrived on time. However, during the interval between receiving the system itself and the stands, the system was stolen. The stands arrived yesterday, and I am trying to think of a way to use them, since I can’t use them as speaker stands anymore. They are about 6 feet tall, and fairly sturdy with tripod bases. Any ideas?

What should I put below my speaker stands?
I built two speaker stands. They are approx. 36 inches high and 7 inches wide. The speaker is small, probably 16 inches, and it sits on the top of stand. On the bottom part of these is empty space…aprox 20 inches. The stands are painted chocolate brown. We thought about a vase, or something like that…but it just does not look right. What could we put there that would work best for these things? Help!

Anyone know of any small speaker stands for Alesis M1 studio monitors?
Looking for small speaker stands for my Alesis M1′s. Looking for something 12 – 24 inches to set on a table. Having a tough time finding any small stands, any suggestions gets a solid 10 points. Thanks!

That is kind of an odd height for studio speaker stands…most are designed to sit on the floor and get the speaker up to a good listening height (36 or 42 inches tall):

Can I make speaker stands out of iron pipe?
I am planning to make stands for my bookshelf speakers. I have some ms pipes of round 3″ diameter. I plan to weld metal bases to these pipes (after filling them with sand of course) and screw wooden shelves to these bases.Would such a stand work or the magnetic material of the pipe interfere with the speaker magnet.(they are supposed to be magnetically shielded Wharfedale diamond 9.1)

Look at that metal pipe scaffolding they use to hold the speaker racks.

Are all surround sound speaker stands universal? Do they make different ones for different speakers?
I have no idea what sony speakers I have but I want to buy two stands to put them behind my couch. I see on Ebay that they are usually listed by brand, but aren’t my Sony speakers a different shape and size than other Sony speakers? Does anyone know a good website that can help me make sure I purchase the right stand.
